| Apparently you can now buy it from Amazon. I just ordered it and it said there are only 3 copies left in stock. So presumably it's selling well. |

I ordered the last copy for now. I hope they've really got it. |

| Just bought the Lloyd Hamilton book today. It's an impressive volume. Thumbing through it make me ant to start reading it right now. But first I have to finish THE KEYSTONE KROWD then onto CHAPLIN AT ESSANAY and finally LLOYD HAMILTON. Anthony Balducci did a wonderful job with the first ever book on this fine comedian. |

I read it and then re-read it over the weekend. What a fantastic book! What I found especially interesting was that, contrary to legend:
The Diggins murder did not hurt Hamilton's career
and
Lloyd probably was not the violent drunk he has always been made out to be, there's no concrete evidence of it anywhere.
I was also surprised to read that Chaplin helped him out financially.
I am rather curious as to who the pallbearers were at his funeral. Anybody know? |

I received the book today and must say I find it very troublesome that I, like "Mack Sennett," have to finish reading a couple of other books before embarking on this one. I've browsed through it quite a lot already, though, and it seems phenomenal. I never imagined there would be access to so much information on the comedian's career or, even more astonishing, personal life. The one thing that strikes me the most, so far, is how involved Ham appears to have been in the making of his own films. What also strikes me is how much it totally STINKS that Robinson Crusoe Ltd. is by all probablity lost forever (pleeeaaase find it...SOMEONE!!).
Thank you so much for writing this book, Mr. Balducci. You have done fans of silent comedy an invaluable favor. |

| I second snorrem's comment. I'm only 30 pages in, but: Bravo! Bravo! |

Don't tell me the book is out of print already!? Only expensive copies are available from private sellers on Amazon now. |

Maybe it was just a glitch in the system. As of now, it's coming up as being available (new) on Amazon and B&N. Try it again... |

I think you really nailed it, Snorrem. Great review!
It was sad to read that Bud Duncan died in obscurity, especially since he lived through the revived interest in silent comedy in the 50's/60's. No guesting on talk shows, no gag cameos in any popular comedies of the day. no personal appearances, nothing. |

Thank you very much!
Yes, I agree about the general neglection of Bud in later years...I do hope he did catch some of the Ham & Bud-films when they were aired on TV in the late 50's, at least. |
