| In COLOR, even! He was King Kayamaya (I think that was the name) in a little tropical-themed vignette. No lines of dialogue. This color sound short was included as an extra on WB's splendid DVD of THE GAY DIVORCEE. Gary Cooper, Bing Crosby and Mary Pickford also turn up. First time I've heard Mary speak! |

| Far from retiring from the screen after Secrets, Mary was a fixture of these little Hollywood stargazing reels and made many appearances on radio. I believe Ham had lost his leg by the time this was made and the hula girls were there to support him while he was swaying to the music. |

STAR NIGHT AT THE COCOANUT GROVE was shot in late 1934, before Hamilton entered the hospital. It's pretty obvious he is still duo-dextered,but I think the chorus girls are supporting him while he is standing for much more spirit-related reasons.
If Hamilton did actually have his leg amputated, which I have never found positive proof of, it happened after he went into the Hospital and he never left after that.
